Members
of the APTA and the Arkansas Physical Therapy Association (ArPTA) have access to various
"benefits of belonging." As a member, you should be aware of the
benefits listed below. As a non-member, you should be aware of all that you
are missing out on!

What Does APTA and ArPTA Membership Offer You?
APTA represents you and your profession at the federal
level. ArPTA and APTA represent you and your profession at the state
level. APTA and ArPTA are your voice…and it’s a voice that grows
stronger with each new member.
APTA and ArPTA work hard to ensure that you receive
adequate insurance reimbursement. Lobbying efforts, public relations
campaigns, and political action have brought about many positive changes in
reimbursement policies.
As a member, you can turn to APTA for
answers to your physical therapy questions 24 hours a day. APTA is your
best—and most trusted!—source of information about physical therapy.
Sources of information available FREE to members.
·
PT Bulletin Online—your
weekly electronic update with the latest news in the world of physical
therapy.
·

you the latest from the clinic, the government, the Association, and the
profession.

award-winning, peer-reviewed journal documents the state of the art in the
science and practice of physical therapy.

Web site to learn more about the many more benefits APTA offers its
members.
APTA gives you the tools you need to advance in your
physical therapy career. Turn to APTA for information about new and emerging
practice areas, for employment announcements, and networking opportunities
with colleagues from across the United States.
APTA membership gives you access to high-quality insurance
and financial services, often at a discount. And each of these programs have
been reviewed by a committee of APTA members and are monitored to ensure
ongoing quality. Whether you’re a PT, PTA, or student of physical therapy,
APTA has the right program for you!
Of particular interest to you might be access
to APTA's "Health

Should you

Transition Program will ease your time between jobs. If you are unemployed at
the time of your renewal, you can have your APTA membership extended at no cost
for up to six months while you seek employment. With the Employment Transition
Program you will continue to receive full benefits - all the valuable resources
that APTA offers. You won't miss a single issue of PT Magazine or Physical
Therapy, conference announcements, or other valuable membership benefits. And
you'll be kept informed, be able to continue networking within your professional
community, and receive support from their professional Association - at a time
when you need it most.
To qualify
for this program, you must have been a member of APTA for two or more years
following graduation and must be actively seeking employment. You also must
provide a written request and a copy of a letter from your former employer or a
state unemployment commission. At that time, your membership will be extended by
six months. (Note: This program allows only one extension per member.) For more
information, contact the APTA Membership Department at 800-999-2782, ext. 3124.
Also be
sure to check out ArPTA's Job Center.
